We define a “for purpose” organisation as one whose people are driven by a passion for the organisations purpose and mission to provide services that have a profound social and economic benefit to individuals and to our community. This organisation operates as a sound business to ensure it can continue to provide these essential community services.
Geographe for Purpose (GfP) is the peak membership body of the “for purpose” sector in the Bunbury Geographe region. GfP aims to support innovation and increase collaboration in delivering community services by:
- Connecting people and organisations.
- Celebrating and promoting success.
- Advocating for regional solutions.
- Influencing policy to prefer regional providers.
- Providing information and support services.
Geographe for Purpose’s activities are guided by overarching objectives that commit it to:
- Ensuring the value of for purpose services is clear, recognised and quantified
- Ensuring there is respect for the for purpose sector
- Encouraging people to consider working in the for purpose sector
- Connecting and enabling regional solutions and collective effort
- Be the first point of contact for the sector in the Bunbury Geographe region.
Objectives:
- To provide a strong voice for Bunbury Geographe organisations working in the for purpose sector.
- To provide collegial support to GFP members.
- To identify issues and concerns specific to regional service providers.
- Provide feedback to funders, government and peak groups on issues and concerns as identified by GFP.
- To provide an opportunity to act as a regional network of service providers.
- To have a united voice in presenting ideas, solutions and issues to the broader sector.
- To advocate for equity of support, including training, to regional service providers.
- To promote partnerships and collaboration between regional service providers.
